The Weather Australian International Lottery Programme Scam

There is a Lottery scam that is using the Canadian Western Bank name. A fraudulent email is circulating advising customers that they won lottery winnings from the "Weather Australian International Lottery Programmae 2005". This email asks that the customer contact the Canadian Western Bank at:

The above address is our Corporate Office in Edmonton but the phone number, fax number, email address and contact name are all fraudulent.
This is a scam and we suggest that caution is used when unsolicited e-mails asking for personal or financial information are received. Canadian Western Bank does not and will not ask for banking information by way of email or telephone.
If you receive one of these e-mails, report it to the Security Department of the organization named in the email as well to the law enforcement agency through PhoneBusters at their website www.phonebusters.com, or call toll-free 1-888-495-8501.
